We have had a Remembrance morning in school, whereby students held discussions, wrote poems, conducted readings, performed monologues, observed a silence and made poppies – it was organised by the Student Leadership Team – they then decorated the trees outside the main entrance during afternoon with the poppies the children had made, so that they could see them before they went home in their taxis.

Call to Action for Parents and Carers in Trafford
The last seven months have been hard for us all with the restrictions and disruption caused by Covid. Our schools continue to adapt, doing the best they can to keep all children, staff and visitors safe. We recognise that parents and carers have also made many changes to their lives during the pandemic and we would like to thank you for this support.
Unfortunately, as the number of people with Covid infection has increased, so has the number of children and staff who have had to self-isolate, missing valuable days in education. Schools and the Council have been working hard to reduce the risks, to manage cases and understand the pattern of infection across our school and child-care population.
However, actions taken by schools can only stop some of the cases. We do need families and communities to help us bring the local infection rate down and protect our children’s health and education…

Greater Manchester has secured more than £2m in government funding to boost capacity on the bus network at peak times and help children get back to school safely.
As pupils head back following the summer break this week, and with capacity on the commercial bus network significantly reduced due to coronavirus social distancing measures, Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) has worked with operators to run around 300 additional bus journeys each weekday across the region.

I hope you are well, and that you have enjoyed the break.
You will be aware that School begins again for all students at 8.50 am on Thursday 3rd September. We will be carefully following the latest Government guidance, which you can access from the following link:
As before, your child will be required to maintain social distancing before entering the main entrance of the building. On entry they will be asked to sanitise their hands. As previously, we will be operating the 2 metre social distancing protocols, with each room set out accordingly, and a teacher zone. Rooms will be well ventilated and sanitiser will be available. Each Group will operate as a bubble in order to minimise contact. Students will be discharged onto transport on a staggered basis from 1.55pm each day; those who walk home will be allowed to leave site at this time each day.

They have worked hard not only at securing qualifications, but also on developing their characters and this perseverance is inspiring for many. As a school, we will really miss them and look forward to hearing what they achieve at both college and further in their lives.
Read MoreDear Parent/Guardian,
I am writing to you following another busy and successful year with some important information.
School will close on 17th July at 12.0pm, and will reopen for all students at 8.50am on Thursday 3rd September.
After careful consideration, this year we have not compiled the usual end of year reports as we would normally do. The reason for this is that with the COVID lockdown occurring when it did, this had meant that we do not have enough outcomes material on your child’s performance across the academic year to be able to complete the exercise successfully. As a result, we will now be sending out a progress report for you at the end of the first term of the next academic year, week beginning 14th December, 2020.

I hope you and your families are well. Yesterday Dominic Raab, speaking on behalf of the Prime Minister, reiterated the Government’s position on the current lock down imposed on 23rd March. In his address, Mr Raab said that although they would offer an update on Thursday 16th April, the Government “don’t expect to make any changes to the measures currently in place at that point”.
