PARENTS AND CARERS PLEASE READ THIS URGENT CORONA VIRUS UPDATE 25.3.20
Last night the Prime Minister instructed the nation to behave responsibly in response to the Corona Virus crisis. Specifically, he said:
“The single most important action we can all take … is to stay at home … Stopping all gatherings of more than two people … Every citizen must comply”
As a result, Egerton High School will do its best to comply with the wishes of the Premier, and, as stated in our previous correspondence, we urge you to do the same, by treating the disease with the care it requires.
Although the EHS building will remain open today, we have many staff who are self-isolating, and we currently have no catering staff on site. In order to protect the very few staff we still have in the building, we are observing strict social distancing protocols as follows: there will be no more than 2 people in any room; each person will be 2 metres apart at all times; each child will be admitted to the building one at a time, and will be required to adopt strict hand washing processes; these processes will be repeated throughout the day. We thank you for your support and understanding. We understand that there are a number of issues regarding transport, as PAs and drivers are self-isolating. It is difficult to see how the social distancing procedures can be achieved in your child’s taxi: we are, however, negotiating the use of larger taxis for students, so that they do not become infected with the virus on their journey to and from school.
We will update you as soon as possible. Thank you for your support.
