Learning Bus Opening & Garden Party
'A day to remember.'
After months of hard work and commitment, we are delighted to announce that our Learning Bus is finally open!
To celebrate this special event our school and its students decided to organise a Garden Party, which took place on the 14th July. Both pupils and staff worked hard to put this event together, the first of its kind in the history of our School.
On the day, a dreary and unused corner of our School field was transformed into a fun and lively Garden Party, where guests were served hot drinks and light snacks by our Student Leadership Team as part of their Duke of Edinburgh course. Many guests commented on how professional the students were. As a result, guests enjoyed a range of refreshments, eco therapy and art displays, all accompanied by fine music and sunshine.
We also had a very special guest attend our event - Diane Hawkins, High Sheriff of Greater Manchester. The High Sheriff gave a motivational speech about our school, its ethos and values, and then cut the ribbon to open the Learning Bus. We were delighted to have Mrs Hawkins visit us on this occasion, and for her to share her thoughts and words.
The event was made more special, with a hat competition, judging hats made from recycled materials by our students. The High Sheriff selected 3 winners, who all won prizes for their hard work.
Our first garden party was filled with joy and laughter.
Well done to everyone! Especially, well done to our students, for holding such an amazing event with so much pride and grace. We are all very proud of you!
